MINDFULNESS FOR CHILDREN

Mindfulness training helps children improve their:

- coping skills for stress and emotions

- social skills

- ability to pay attention

- empathy and understanding of others

- test anxiety


I loved the opportunity of teaching mindfulness to children. I had the opportunity to teach to 3 different classrooms of 3-6 year old children in the Montessori learning environment. It was a blast. So much joy filled my heart sharing these essential lessons with such eager minds and spirits.


I used books, visual aids, and manipulatives to help the children actually experience what meditation feels like, what mindfulness looks and sounds like, and how to be empathetic and compassionate with themselves and others.


In the summer of 2019, I will be offering a course for parents and children based on the Mindful Schools Essentials curriculum; 16 sessions of mindfulness instruction and practice aimed at a young child’s level of comprehension and enjoyment.
